Capitol Hill Day
Making a Difference
Washington- Since 2000, at least 136 people have died in campus-related fires. Here is a chance for students, parents, fire officials and fire safety advocates to make a difference for campus fire safety by working with Congress.
For the past 2 years we have been traveling to Capitol Hill and meeting with Members of Congress and their staff to discuss campus fire safety issues. As a result, the Campus Fire Safety Right-to-Know became law, proclamations have been passed in the U.S. House and Senate designating September as National Campus Fire Safety Month, the College Fire Prevention Act passed the House in 2008 and other important pieces of legislation have been introduced.
Be a part of this vital effort to make campuses safer across the nation by joining in this important project in Washington, DC. It is only one day...but what a day it is. See what other students, parents and fire safety advocates had to say about the 2009 trip by clicking on the video above or click here to learn more - or, are you ready to be a part and make a difference

Some other memories of A. J. were him “modeling” with me, saying he had to watch his figure, singing in the car, going to King’s Island, and listening to all the stories of his family back in Ohio (through the stories I felt like I knew the entire Cohen crew-A.J. was so proud of you all)! I have so many memories of A.J. because he touched my entire family and we will never be the same. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about him and all the lives he touched. I miss you my brother, my duet partner, my modeling coach, and most of all my angel.

I don't know where to begin. All of my favorite memories from high school involve A.J. That is so funny that Hilary remembered him chewing on the plastic spoon. He always carried one in his pocket. It still brings a smile to my face thinking of his goofy laugh, how he always tucked his football jersey into his pads, showing off his toned stomach, and his love for the band Parliment. No one loved life/friends/family more than A.J. He has been deeply missed and touched by so many people.
